EMDR Intensives: Focused Trauma Healing
When trauma is stored in the nervous system, it often needs more than 50 minutes a week to heal.
EMDR Intensives offer a structured, extended format that allows deeper processing, greater continuity, and meaningful relief in a shorter period of time.
This is focused, intentional trauma work designed for clients who are ready to go deep in a supportive and contained way.

WHAT IS AN EMDR INTENSIVE?
An EMDR Intensive is a short-term, extended therapy format that condenses several months of trauma work into one to three days.
Instead of starting and stopping each week, intensives allow your nervous system to stay engaged in the healing process long enough for real integration to occur.
Clients often choose intensives when they:
-
Feel stuck in weekly therapy
-
Want focused treatment for a specific trauma or theme
-
Have limited time or demanding schedules
-
Are emotionally ready but want momentum
EMDR intensives are not rushed therapy. They are carefully structured, resourced, and paced to support safety and effectiveness.
WHO ARE EMDR INTENSIVES FOR?
EMDR Intensives may be a good fit if you:
-
Have experienced trauma, grief, or distressing life events
-
Identify a specific memory, pattern, or theme you want to address
-
Are high-functioning but emotionally exhausted
-
Want meaningful progress without long-term weekly therapy
-
Are seeking a private-pay, specialty trauma service
EMDR Intensives are not appropriate for everyone.
Clients experiencing active substance dependence, acute safety concerns, or severe dissociation without stabilization may be referred for a different level of care.
A consultation is required to determine clinical fit.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Before your intensive, you will complete a comprehensive intake and consultation to ensure safety, readiness, and alignment.
Your intensive may include:
-
Nervous system preparation and resourcing
-
Trauma history mapping and target identification
-
Extended EMDR processing with breaks as needed
-
Grounding, integration, and closure
-
A personalized aftercare and integration plan
Many clients report feeling lighter, clearer, or more grounded following an intensive. Temporary fatigue, emotional release, or vivid dreams are also common and expected parts of trauma processing.
EMDR INTENSIVE OPTIONS
-
One-Day Focused Intensive (6 hours)
Best suited for single-incident trauma, medical trauma, accidents, or specific distressing memories.
-
Two-Day Deep Dive Intensive (12 hours)
Designed for layered trauma, childhood experiences, grief, or complex themes.
-
Three-Day Comprehensive Intensive (15–18 hours)
Recommended for complex trauma, first responders, military trauma, or long-standing patterns.
All intensives include preparation, processing, and integration. Follow-up support options are available.
AFTERCARE AND INTEGRATION
Healing does not end when the intensive ends.
Each intensive includes a structured aftercare plan to support continued regulation and integration. Clients may also choose to coordinate with an ongoing therapist when appropriate.
The goal is not just processing trauma, but helping the nervous system maintain change.
INVESTMENT
EMDR Intensives are private-pay specialty services. Pricing varies based on length and clinical needs.
Detailed investment information is provided during the consultation process.
